This field-proven product has
what no other switching manufacture can deliver. It provides a solid-state
high performance, high frequency configuration that is the most dense
available. Perfectly suited for audio, video or other types of signals
ranging from DC to 125MHz, the S2560E is specifically designed for the
system professional demanding high signal performance with small compact
packaging, and exceptional affordability. It is available in either analog
or digital (422) configurations.
Unlike the System S2561E or S2562E, the S2560E has balanced inputs and
outputs, not single-ended.

New features for the "E" version are:
- Newly designed hot-swap high capacity
power section
- Dual AC input connectors
- Enhanced system firmware features
The S2560E provides a host of
features including a field expandable configuration from 32 inputs and 32
outputs, to a full 256 inputs and 256 outputs in a single chassis 5RU
chassis (8.75" high), and up to a 1024x1024 with 16 units. Inputs and outputs are independently expandable
in increments of 32 channels by simply installing a module. The system
recognizes the new module and responds accordingly. Using multiple units and
the correct adapter panels to interconnect, the S2560E can be configured to
a full 1024x1024 configuration within just 80RU total, or less than two full
standard equipment racks.

The system can
deliver the high density due to the fact that all signal I/O is via high
performance SCSI II connectors with 16 differential channels per connector. For
some applications, the user can connect directly to these connectors
(audio and '422 or data applications). For most other applications,
including video or similar applications, a number of external connector
adapter panel assemblies are available for the user to interface with.
This includes BNC, RCA, RJ-45, D-Sub and many others. This system also
allows the system engineer to mix and match panel assemblies as
applications change, plus it provides the ability to locate the system I/O
(or a portion of it) either on the front of the equipment rack, the rear
of the equipment rack, or located some distance from the actual switching
drawer.

The
S2560E is available in analog or digital formats. The analog version
allows the system to be used for large audio or video type applications,
while the digital format provides a method to switch digital data formats
such as telemetry data (differential clock and data). The system also
provides full non-blocking and full fanout of signals allowing the user to
route a given input signal to one, many, or up to all outputs without
signal degradation, loss or input loading.
