MAC4 controller 4RU

Model MAC4

The MAC4 unit is a touchscreen control panel for a multi-unit switching configuration, multiple systems functioning independently (RF, Video, Data), or for a remote control/display for any of our switching systems. The unit can be rack-mounted, or used as a desktop controller. Multiple MAC4 units can also be used on the same system for redundancy, multiple locations or users.

Unit firmware is factory configured per application, but field updates are simple via Ethernet. Download are normally located on our support website.

Master Array Controller, and Remote Display 4RU

SWM16X rear panel detail wideband matrix system

    Detailed Description

To support signal switching, distribution, and monitoring applications requiring large channel counts, the recommended system may be comprised of several units working in concert. Operation of such an array typically requires application specific control software.

The MAC4 (Master Array Controller) is specifically designed to streamline control of a multi-system array. It can operate a group of switching hardware while providing the user with a single cross point configuration to control. It supports the 488.2 protocol common to Universal Switching products and can create arrays with most in-service units manufactured in the last decade.

The integrated C3 controller features 10/100 Ethernet supporting LXI certified TLS secured WEB access, SNMP v1/v2C/v3, and TCP/IP remote control. Since the MAC4 includes our C3 technology, it uses a robust (non-windows) secure distributed “system-on-chip” RTOS with proprietary code for excellent security & stability. Firmware is field upgradeable via Ethernet.

Although intended for use with large system arrays, the MAC4 can also be used as a remote access panel or expanded function display for smaller single-system applications. Since the MAC4 communicates over Ethernet, it can be physically located anywhere that it can communicate to the other systems in the array. The MAC4 is designed for standard 19-inch rack mounting or desktop use. An additional feature is the capacity to control two locally connected “PUC” modules. The MAC4 functions as a 10” display controller option for our RSX4/UC1 product lines.

Self-monitoring plug-in power supplies are standard with an independent and redundant design. The unit has independent dual AC power inputs designed for any international AC power source. The unit is also compatible with our  RouteWarePRO control software package.
