Critical applications such as in satellite broadcast or military require redundant (backup) systems. Our redundancy/transfer switchers provide an automated method of providing this function. Under program control, manual, or direct alarm input, this unit provides either 1:1 backup or transfer functions. Besides a 1:1 or transfer function, an external termination can be added for a self-terminating 2x1 function if desired.

Our 10948B is provides automated redundancy or "transfer"switching of equipment with single-ended digital or analog signals to 18GHz (40GHz optional).
Rather than using patch cords, distribution amplifiers and multi-couplers, the following installations may benefit from use of this product:
The 10948B Redundancy (backup) Switching System provides backup selections for signals as high as 18GHz (optional 40GHz). This product delivers ultra-high signal performance coupled with very advanced remote/manual control and monitoring. Dual serial ports, or Ethernet and a single serial port configurations are available.
Designed specifically for the satellite and communications industry, the 1RU high rack mount unit provides the user with four channels of A/B or transfer functions. Under front panel, remote serial control, Ethernet or direct alarm input control, the unit can select a backup signal to replace a suspect or failed input source.
Besides the hot-swap power supplies at the front panel, it also includes a VF display, manual keys for local control and a host of status LEDs. The manual controls may be locked to prevent unintentional operation. Self-monitoring hot-swap plug-in power supplies are standard with an independent and redundant design. The unit has an international AC power input designed for any international AC power source, and an optional wide-range DC power input is available.
The 10948B units are delivered complete, 100% tested, and ready for installation & integration. The following items are included:
Model 10948B 1RU unit
One 6'-foot power cord
Resource disc (#RD10948B)
